Above is a screen shot of our system as seen by us when we log on to view booking incoming requests.

QUESTION 1:  "What is the status of my booking request?"

ANSWER:  We are unable to field questions about the status of your request.  Please allow 2-4 months for a response due to the nature and process of booking.

QUESTION 2:  "How long will it take before I get a response once I send in my request?

ANSWER:  It generally takes 2-4 months to fully process each request due to the nature and process of booking.  The process is further compounded by our limited number of staff members compared to the overwhelming amount of incoming requests on a regular basis.  We do not have a booking agent so we must discuss and decide together on which events to participate in light of the requests and plans for the year (e.g., studio time, recording time, missions trips, or other spots on our calendar which do not permit us to travel).  Staff members, including those staff members who are artists in Cross Movement the group, engage in multiple tasks and responsibilities within our 501(c)3 organization that requires ongoing attention so we cannot meet as regularly about the requests as we prefer.

QUESTION3:  "How much does it cost to book The Cross Movement?

ANSWER:  Click here for the answer to this question.

QUESTION 4:  "I used to be able to call CM and put in a request. What happened?"

ANSWER:  In year 2001 the general booking process changed from taking requests by phone to receiving booking requests through our website for increased efficiency and organization of incoming requests.  This new system also ensures that no incoming request is overlooked.  And most importantly the system also allows us to get more done in the office as we are not on the phone all day long fielding and answering booking request phone calls.

QUESTION 5:  "Why does the booking system have to be through the website?"

ANSWER:  In year 2001 we deployed a new booking process and system that allowed our limited staff to effectively organize the overwhelming incoming requests into a database.  Through an online form we are able to acquire from you the necessary information we need to process your request, and additionally requests can be sent from anywhere in the world, day or night.  Incoming requests can be sorted (by city, date or request and other variables), and the requests are much easier to lookup, process, and manage.  We have a record of every incoming request since the system was deployed in 2001.  We have found that this is the system that works best for us.

While we want to be able to keep in touch by phone with as many people by phone, it simply is  was impossible.  It takes time to converse with people about their requests with all of the information that people want to share about their ministry, event, community, effectiveness, perspectives, visions, accomplishments, and so forth.  We would love to have the time to give to all of these conversations, but if we did, we could not effectively give our time and efforts to other mandatory issues, tasks, and appointments in the office.  The website booking system grants us the time we need that we didn't have when we took all requests by telephone.

Expressing an interest in booking Cross Movement over the telephone (as opposed to the website) does not increase your chances of booking Cross Movement.  In fact, taking a request over the phone delays our ability to process the request since we then have to manually enter it into our system, and the questions asked are the same questions that the website form asks.  This is why incoming callers requesting to book the Cross Movement are often referred to our website.  It really helps us when those interested in booking CM use use the booking request form found on this website; however, if you really feel you must talk to someone in person, you may call the ministry office at (215) 423-1800.

QUESTION 6:  "Do you get my request when I sent it through the Website, and is it read?"

ANSWER:  Yes.  Although we are unable to field questions about the status of your request, be assured that when you receive a confirmation page after submitting a request, then your request has successfully made it into our system.  The booking system is monitored on an ongoing basis and all requests are read and responded to.  Again, please allow 2-4 months for a response due to the nature and process of booking. Additionally, we maintain all processed requests on file (that have entered our system since August 2001) and may refer to them when mapping our tour to certain areas.

QUESTION 7:  "Are events or concerts booked at the time or initial asking of the request?"

ANSWER:  It is not possible to immediately book Cross Movement or to give you an answer at the time you present your request to Cross Movement.  Please allow 2-4 months for processing (see question #2 for more details).  No decisions are made on any potential event(s) until all CM artists have an opportunity to corporately meet.

QUESTION 8:  "Is there a fee to book the Cross Movement?"

ANSWER:  We do not charge a specific fee or amount; however, we do require that all traveling, meals, and lodging expenses (when applicable) be covered by those ministry or church when we agree to partner in ministry to do an event or concert.  There is also a suggested honorarium range discussed with potential requests in the later stages of the booking process.  We prefer not to discuss this range in detail upon us receiving a booking request, as the request is then only in the initial stages of the booking request.  Once again, please allow 2-4 months for processing (see question #2 for more details).

QUESTION 9:  "What if I just want to let you know that I'm willing to help out at a crusade or Cross Movement Event that's already been scheduled?"

ANSWER:  Same procedure.  Fill out the Booking Request Form found in the booking section of this Website.  In the "Additional Comments" section at the very end of the form, be sure to express that interest and any specific ways you could help out.  When help is needed for a certain crusade, one of the places we will check is the booking system to see who has expressed interest in helping out.

QUESTION 10:  "Can I e-mail in my booking request instead?"

ANSWER:  E-mailing or faxing in your request delays the process because you will receive a reply requesting that you fill out a Booking Request Form per our new booking system and procedures.  If you are having technical difficulties with the form, please read the very last question in this FAQ.

QUESTION 11:  "You're Cross Movement Staff, why can't you book a date for me?"

ANSWER:  The people who are staffed by CM have designated roles.  For example, while JD is fulltime Cross Movement staff and in the ministry office on a daily basis, she does not handle incoming booking requests and can be of absolutely no assistance regarding the status of your request (this applies to people who are "close friends" with JD too).

Additionally we ask that you do not contact The Tonic, Earthquake, TRUTH, or The Ambassador in regards to booking the Cross Movement the group.  They do not have the ability (or time) to enter your request into our system, and the ministry office will NOT have a record of your request unless it is entered into our system.

QUESTION 12:  "What if I don't have access the Internet?"

ANSWER:   Well, if you are reading this, odds are real high that you have some sort of means to Internet access or know someone who does.  However, if someone cannot send a request by website, then your request can be taken by telephone, but please allow even more time for processing as a staff member will then have to manually enter in your request into our system.

QUESTION 13:  "What do I do if I've had technical PROBLEMS submitting the booking form?"

We get 2-3 booking requests per day, so the booking request form and our booking system DOES work.  However, it is our understanding that some people still encounter technical difficulties even though we have exhaustively tested this system on all major (and minor) web browsers with success.  Therefore, if you encounter problems submitting your request, here is what you must do:

  1. Try again using the latest version of Microsoft Internet Explorer (MIE)—upgrade now

  2. Try using a different computer to send in your request

  3. Send the exact error message to bookingerror@crossmovement.org

  4. If all else fails, print out this form, fill it out completely and fax to: (425) 795-7631
